(Sherbet) Dib Dab

Today's look is a bit softer, a bit more free than the usual looks.
I wanted to do something where, if you mess up, it can actually add to the look -

See what I mean?!!

The colours I used are all Barry M - 300 Acid Yellow, 302 Fushia and 292 Navy.

- So, the usula, basecoats to begin,
- Then two coats of the divine Acid Yellow -

- Next, take some of the pink, and put it on a surface that you don't mind wrecking! Like an old magazine or something.
- Then, just take a cotton bud, and dab to pink colour on to the nail. I concentrated the colour in the middle of my nail, but took it all the way to both ends -

- Finally, I took the navy using the same technique, with the cotton bud, lightly dabbing across the nail to create the stripes.
- Top coat to seal.

As you can see, it can get quite messy, but don't worry, that's kind of the point! Just use a cotton bud to clean up after.

Have a play, see what colour combo's work for you, and have FUN!

Adios!

Too Graphic?

Today, we're going a bit abstract, a bit graphic-y!
I've not really tried anything like this before, but I think they turned out alright for a first attempt! -

I used only the two colours for this, Color Trend Colour Me Pretty Nail Polish in Surf and Barry M 161 Vivid Purple.

- Basecoats to start with
- Then I needed four coats of the Surf to get it opaque -

- Even with four coats, it's not quite as opaque as I'd like, but I'm not gonna moan for 99p!
- Next just take a small, thin, brush and paint the stripes on in whatever pattern takes your fancy.
- Top coat to end.

So easy!
I love that something so easy as putting a few stripes of colour on your nail can give such a cool, and individual effect.

Happy experimenting!

Shiny Spots

I bloody love it when the Avon lady arrives! My dog does too, but that's for a different reason....
This time I got three 'Color Trend' Varnishes 'cos, well, they were 99p.
So, as with every Avon delivery, I picked my faves and I did a blog!

Here's the look I did -

Really easy peasy and super shiny! A favourite combo of mine :)

The colours I used for thris are-
- Color Trend Colour Me Pretty Nail Varnish in Minimalist Peach
- Avon Nailwear Pro in Sequinned Turquoise
- Barry M 295 Pure Turquoise

- Basecoats to begin
- Then three coats of the peach -

- This is how it is on it's own with the three coats. I think it's so beautiful!!
- Next just dot the colours on however you want, in whatever order.
- I used my dotting tool for this, but like I've said before hair grips, toothpicks, general pointy object will work just as well!
- Then top coat to seal.

If you start your dots at each end and then work your way to the middle, you will find they come out a lot more even, as opposed to if you just freehand them.

Unfortunately, the Sequinned Turquoise from Avon was limited to a gift set, but my fabulous rep gave me hers!

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend ;)

Catch you next week

Red, Red Wine

My fabulous mum came home with two Barry M polishes for me the other day. Very exciting stuff!
She got me 1a Red Wine and 115 Red Black. And here is what I did with them -

I know they're a mess!
- So, basecoats to begin
- Then, two coats of the lighter red
- Next add two coats of the dark red to the tip. I found it easy to do this, by holding the brush facing the side of my nail and sweeping it round in a circular motion to the tip.
-Top coat to end.

I wanted to keep it nice and chic today, giving a classic red nail a bit of a twist.

I also added some black rhinestones, just because I can't leave 'em alone! -

Ta-da! The end :)

See you Friday kids

Jelly Beans :)

I don't know about you, but I find inspiration in the most obvious of places.....

This time, it was this mug -

I mean, ofcourse!
This mug has been sat in my room for ages, and yesterday I thought, I can do nails with that. So I did. And here they are -

Jazzy.

All Barry M again! (sorry!)

- 66 Matt White
- 1a Red Wine
- 301 Block Orange
- 134 Yellow
- 290 Spring Green
- 204 Cyan Blue

- So, bascecoats to begin
- Then, two coats of the white
- Next, two coats of the colour (whichever order you choose) in the shape of the jelly beans!
- Top coat
END!

So easy and relatively quick. And, with patients, you can just use the brush that comes with the varnish to do the shapes. Again don't worry about making a mess, remember the cotton bud/varnish remover combo!!

I enjoyed doing this look, it was a lot of fun, and that's what it's all about.

See you next time lovlies :)

Feelin' Blue

According to, well, everyone, blue is it at the moment.
If you haven't seen Chanel's 'Les Jeans De Chanel', have a look immediately and you will know exactly what my inspiration was.

Here is the look I created -

It just came out of the blue. HA!

I used three BarryM shades for this one 25 Pure Turquoise, 291 Cobalt Blue and 292 Navy.

Nice and easy peasy.
- Basecoats to begin
- Then, two coats of the turquoise -

- Next, I painted two coats of the cobalt across the middle of my nail -

- Then two coats of navy across the tip
- Top coat to end.

Super fun and apparently bang on!!

Have a fabulous weekend :)
