Paul & Joe - Hyacinth

Sometimes, I just can't resist a nail polish (or all the time). And 9 times out of 10, it'll be by Paul & Joe. It's probably the packaging, I'm a sucker for the pretty!

Today, I have #037 Hyacinth to share from the Spring collection.

I have layered one coat of Hyacinth over two coats of Revlon Rock with a base coat and top coat.

All Paul & Joe nail enamels are Limited Edition so get them while you can polish peeps!

I should definitely mention that the formula is super thin, so it becomes difficult to catch the glitter particles on the brush before application. It all sinks to the bottom! However, there is so much glitter packed into the blue base that it's not such a horrid problem as you know you'll always get something good on your brush.

This polish also has the lovely floral / citrus scent that all Paul & Joe nail enamels have.

Chanel - Coup de Coeur

This nail colour from Chanel was released on Valentines day, and is included in the new 'Le Rouge' collection. I have the official press release from Chanel HERE for your reading pleasure :-)

The nail colour is described as feminine, elegant and bold and I think those are the perfect words to describe it. 

Swatches are two coats of colour with a base and top coat.

This colour is a really lovely classical shade, which is what Chanel does best . It is slightly cooler than the pictures show, however I think they're almost exact.

The formula is wonderful and you can almost achieve complete opacity with just one coat, but it does really need two for the perfectly smooth lacquered finish.

Chanel Coup de Coeur costs £18 and I bought mine from Debenhams.

Good grief, I have never had so much trouble photographing a colour in my whole life! 

The colour is so pretty, and I would call it a deep turquoise. However, I just couldn't get that gorgeous tone :-(

I think the most accurate photo is the first one.

I do really love this colour, I just wish you could see how pretty it is too!

China Glaze - Sea Goddess swatches!

Hello everyone, happy Wednesday!

Today, I am super excited to be able to share with you swatches of three of the shades from the new Sea Goddess collection from China Glaze.

The swatches all have two coats of colour with a base coat. I have then taken photo's with and without a top coat so you can see the difference in the finish.

Initially, these polishes dry to a textured almost sandy finish. (Which really fits the theme of the collection!) Once you add a top coat, they smooth out a bit but still feel slightly rough to the touch.

The first colour I have is Sand Dolla Make You Holla, a white polish packed with all different shades of glitter.

I like this shade, it makes me think of the paradise of a white sandy beach as the sun shines :)

Next is Shell We Dance, a rosy pink polish with pink and silver glitter.

Shell We Dance is a lovely sparkling pink. It reminds me of the colours of a coral reef or tropical fish!

Finally is Teal The Tide Turns which is a light minty green with green glitter.

This one my favourite of the three! I just imagine mermaids when I look at this shade.

I found these nice and easy to apply, however they do dry fast so you have to work quite quickly. If you're like me and are still loving a textured polish, I think these are for you. They're quite thin, however I think two coats is enough as three would be too much on the nail and it would look a bit gross!
