Avon - Opal Top Coat

I told you I had another one!
This must be the 6th or 7th top coat of this kind that I own. Maybe I'll do a comparison post one day? Let me know!

This top coat is more of a flakie than a glitter, and though I think I prefer glitter I can never resist a flakie! I feel like I haven't used one for so long, so when I saw it was half price in the Avon brochure I thought why not?!

Here I have swatched on coat of Opal Top Coat over two coats of Avon Viva Pink (Viva Pink was LE for Breast Cancer Awareness) -

I love how, because of the iridescence of the flakie particles, this top coat will work over pretty much anything.

As much as I enjoy this over the hot pink, I think I would prefer it over a darker colour such as this CG / Essie combo.

Avon Opal Top Coat is £6 (however I only paid £3!) available from your local Avon rep or at Avonshop.co.uk.

I hope you've all had a great week!

Yves Rocher - Deep Purple

Another Christmas polish! It was my birthday last month and one of the things I love about Yves Rocher is that they always send you awesome free gift offers and seeing as though they sent me an extra special one for my birthday I thought It'd be rude not to get some bits!

Deep Purple is from their Winter 2014 collection which also includes a Gold and a Magenta shimmer.

The swatch is of two coats of Deep Purple with a top coat -

I really like the finish of this polish, between a metallic and a shimmer, and it's perfect for the festive season too.

As always with Yves Rocher, I love the small bottle size but hate the tiny handle! I find it difficult to control but I won't be complaining as these polishes cost a mere £3 at full price (which they rarely are) and I only paid £1.95.

Check out the Yves Rocher Christmas range at Yves-rocher.co.uk.

I hope you're having a wonderful week so far!

Beautybay - It's Snowing on Main Street.

It's official, Christmas is coming! I'm not sure how I feel about it really, it seems to get earlier every year...

Beautybay.com launched their Christmas shop recently and loads of georgeous new sparkly nail polishes along with it. I restrained myself and only purchased one, but I just know I'll be going back for more! Especially when you can get the gift sets of five polishes for only £9.95.

The one I went for is called It's snowing on main Street and is an iridescent glitter top coat. I feel like I can't stop buying these (I have another one coming up this week!) and |I think they're awesome for the holiday period, transforming your nail colour into something sparkly and festive.

I have swatched one coat of It's Snowing on Main Street over two coats of Beautybay Donner Pass -

I really enjoyed using this polish. There was no need for glitter placement as it's so jam packed, one coat is enough to cover the whole nail.

It's snowing on Main Street is £5 available at Beautybay.com.

I hope you're all having an awesome weekend!

Barry M sort of Halloween mani!

Hooray it's Wednesday! What a morning I've had...

Today I have some sort of Halloween nails to share today. I wanted to do a gradient, so I thought why not go a bit Halloween inspired! After applying the gradient, I thought of these WAH nails, so I added the black crackle top coat as well and I'm chuffed with the outcome :)

I started with Barry M #300 Acid Yellow. This is sadly discontinued however there are many colours like it out there. I then added #296 Coral and the Black Magic crackle top coat, both also by Barry M.

Barry M nail paints are £2.99 each and the Crackle top coat is £3.99 and you can check out their full range at Barrym.com.

I hope you're all having an awesome week!

Illamsqua Nail Art with Velocity and Melange

Happy Friday!

I've been wanting to wear Melange by Illamasqua again ever since I swatched it last month. Today I've paired it with Velocity to create today's mani.

I apologise for the mess on my index finger! I smudged it and tried to bodge it together, but it obviously failed dramatically!

To create this mani I started with two coats of Velocity, then added striping tape to crate the square shape. I then added Melange and removed the tape. Without the black lines of the tape, I felt like the look was missing something so I added in my Barry M black nail art pen to add the black outline.

I hope you enjoy this look! I think it would make a nice alternative for Halloween to :)

Check out Illamasqua.com for their full range.

Have the best weekend everyone!

Barry M Autumn Nail Art

I can't seem to post on time these days! This one's only a day late thogh, so I'm improving :)

Today I've had a play around with the new Barry M Autumn colours. I thought they'd be perfect for nail art as they are all purple toned so would work well together. The design is a simple one but effective I think. A classic!

You can check out swatches of all three colours HERE, and the whole Barry M nail paint range at Barrym.com.

I hope you're all having an awesome week so far!
