Squiggle Vinyl Gradient Nail Art!

It's Sunday and I have been slacking off again! But I am back again after an exciting week of new tattoos and new hair do's, and I bring you yet more nail art using my new love: Vinyls.

Today's post includes the squiggle vinyls, which are fun to say as well as use ;-)

I used The Body Shop Polishes to create these nails. 640 Mint Cream is the base colour and I then added the vinyls and sponged 220 Peach Babe over the top to make the gradient.

I'm happy with the way this mani turned out. It is one of those rare occasion where the nails come out better than you invision!! Though I'm not actually sure what my aim was in the first place!

I think they kind of look like a flowing river too which I like :-)

You can purchase the Squiggle vinyls, among many others from Sparkly-nails.co.uk. And The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colours are £5 each available at Thebodyshop.co.uk.

Thank you for reading and have a great rest of the day, wherever you are.

Blue Rhythm de Chanel

Sunday again, already! I hope you're all having a great weekend whatever it is you're doing :)

Today, I bring you swatches of the new offering from Chanel. Two beautiful blue polishes from this Summer collection, aptly named, Blue Rhythm de Chanel.

The collection includes a bright royal blue creme named Vibrato (permanent), and a darker more navy polish which has a slight metallic finish with a lovely subtle sparkle named Fortissimo (LE). Love the musical terms they've used for the names :-)

I did tinker with the swatch photos a tad, just because they came out much lighter than irl. I just darkened them slightly to make them more true to life.

Both polishes are swatched using two coats of polish with a top coat.

First up is #665 Vibrato, this one is the permanent shade -

And #681 Fortissimo, the limited edition colour -

I have to say, I have seen very limited information regarding this collection. But I can tell you that it launched last Friday (May 29th) and Fortissimo is a limited edition colour, however Vibrato will be an ongoing colour.

Chanel have been impressing me lately. We all saw how beautiful Collection Mediterranee was, and how much fun too. I think that is why Chanel is one of, if not my all time favourite, brands. They do classic so well (Rouge Noir for a start!) but then they offer shades like these two and you're reminded that they can be exciting and fresh.

Chanel Le Vernis are £18 each and I purchased mine from Debenhams.com, and don't forget to pick up Fortissimo while you can :)

Have a wonderful day everyone, and thank you for reading!

Barry M Pink Criss-Cross Nail Art

Well it's June and it's raining! Good old English summers!

Today I have a fun pink mani which will brighten up the nails, even if the sun is hiding :( Shockingly, I am using vinyls again. To create this design I used the Pointed Chevron's along with all Barry M nail paints.

I started off with #66 White as my base and added a coat of SV.

Once this was dry, I stuck on two vinyls pointing towards each other to create the cross shape.

I then filled in in the traingles with #119 Baby Pink; #309 Strawberry Ice Cream; #279 Bright Pink and #272 Shocking Pink (in order of lightest to darkest)

I'm pretty sure that #119 Baby Pink is the only one that is no longer available. You can purchase the rest at Barrym.com for £2.99 each, and the vinyls are £1.25 from Sparkly-nails.co.uk.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed today's mani!

Have a wonderful rest of the week :)

Illamasqua Chevrons

I had a delivery! My Sparkly Nails vinyls came this week, so you all know that I had to have a go with them :) They have quite a few different designs and I chose five of them.... to start with!

Today I am using the Relaxed Chevron vinyls, with Illamasqua polishes Load (cream, base colour); Noble (blue) and Rare (yellow) and the Barry M black nail art pen to finish -

I am pretty pleased with how this mani came out. Clearly I need more practice with the nail art pen (They look great from afar!) but overall I like the design, and I am happy with my eventual colour choices (I went through quite a few before I landed on these).

You can purchase the relaxed chevron, along with many other designs, at Sparkly-nails.co.uk for £1.25 each.

And great news! Rare is back at Illamasqua.com!! Now I don't feel bad when I use it :) Though I may have to re-purchase to see if it's any different... Illamasqua nail varnishes are £14.50 each.

Thank you all for reading! Have a great rest of your weekend :)

Models Own Hyper Gel Zig Zag Mani.

Friday again! Wahoo!

Today I have had, surprisingly, another play with my nail vinyls. You guys will tell me when you get bored of seeing them won't you?!

This is the mani that I was going to try when I first received the vinyls in the post. However, when I had a go with them and it didn't work out I gave up on these polishes and the vinyls for a while! After a few goes using them though, I got more and more in to the swing of using them and decided to re-visit my original idea...

The polishes I used are all by Models own and part of their Hyper Gel range. The shades are, Cornflower Blue (the palest blue, used as the base colour); Blue Glint (turquoise) and Inky Blue (navy) -

I am definitley happy with how these (finally) turned out! I especially enjoy the effect of the moving navy zig zag, though I think the effect would have had more of a wow-factor if I had used a contrasting colour such as a coral in it's place.

The Models Own Hyper Gels are £4.99 each and you can purchase them (along with the rest of the Models Own range) at Modelsownit.com.

Thank you so much for reading and I'll see you all again on Sunday for more :-)

Color Club Halo Hues

I can't quite get my head round the fact that it's the last week in May?! This year is just flying by...

This fine Tuesday I am excited to share a couple of swatches of the Color Club Halo Hues. You may remember my swatches of the Pastel Neons which I posted a couple of weeks ago? I purchased these two beauties at the same time, and I have been completely dying to post them!

So on to the swatches :) I have two of the Halo Hues to share. First up is Harp On It, this one is your standard silver holo, if there is such a thing as standard when it comes to holographics!! Two coats -

With flash -

And Over The Moon, a vivid blue holo, and obviously my favourite of the two! Two coats as well -

With flash -

I mean who doesn't love a holographic polish?! The formula's on these two colours was really great. Smooth, opaque and just generally easy to work with. I will defintely be adding more of them to my collecion :)

I used the OPI Glitter Off Peelable Base Coat when swatching these, CLICK HERE to check out my full review.

Color Club Halo Hues are £8.95 each and I purchased mine from Nailpolishdirect.co.uk.

I hope you're all having a good week so far, and I'll see you all Friday for more!
