WAH Look #3 - Daisies

My favourite thing about doing these looks from WAH is definitely that I get to try out looks that I haven't done before and wouldn't usually try. Sometimes, they don't turn out too well, like Look 2, but I mostly really like them and how they turn out, especially as it's my first go at something new!

Today's look is the simple, yet effective, Daisies -

I used all Barry M for this look, Black, Matt White and Yellow, and a black nail art pen for the details on the flowers.

I like this one, and the colours combinations are just endless! You could have so much fun with this :)

See you Friday, when it's getting super artistic...

WAH Look #2 - Bandana

The second look in the WAH Nails book of Downtown Girls is called Bandana. I've got to say, I didn't like doing this one!! I think it's just that the pattern isn't very me...and also that I'm not very good at it!

But I gave it a go, and as it's the first time I've ever tried a look like this, I think I did alright -

I used Barry M Black for the base and my white cheapo nail art pen from eBay.

See you for look three on Wednesday :)

WAH Look #1 - Bacteria

If you missed by blog from Wednesday, I'm starting a new series going through the new book from WAH Nails - Downtown Girls - and replicating all the manicures that are featured!

Look number one is called 'Bacteria'.

The book says it can be time consuming..... this is true! But so worth it -

To re-create this look, I used -

-Barry M Neon Yellow, Matt White and Bright Purple.
-Models Own Toxic Apple.
-Nails Inc. Hertford Street.
-Illamasqua Muse
-Chanel Holiday.

For the black outlines I used my cheap and cheerful nail at pens from eBay.

This mani took a while, but I really enjoyed doing it! It also made me feel great :) I love it when nails can make me smile.

WAH Book 2 - Downtown Girls

You may all remember that in Summer last year, WAH Nails founder Sharmadean Reid released a book inspired by her super cool nail salon in London called The WAH Nails Book of Nail Art.

The book featured 25 step-by-step guides on how to create the fabulous mani's at home and I went through the book and re-created each look.

Well, she's done it again! Book 2 is entitled 'Downtown Girls' and again features 25 awesome designs with detailed guides to follow at home.

Book 2 also contains style, hair and beauty advice. There's also tips on blogging and more.

I've decided to do the same again and (try!) and copy each of the looks in the book. Starting on Friday, I will be posting the manicures featured in this book and I really hope I can do them justice :)

Models Own - Hed Kandi collection Part 2!

You may remember when Models own brought out their Hed Kandi collection (about 18 months ago) and I, among many others, went mental for them!!

Since then, they've added another two polishes to the range and that's what I have to share with you today :)

Polishes are HK06 Bora Bora (left) and HK07 Sunset Chillout

Bora Bora - I'm wearing three coats in the pictures. I love the finish of this one, it reminds me of a textured polish, something I'm currently obsessed with!

Sunset Chillout - I added one layer of Sunset Chillout to Chanel's Provocation and used two coats on it's own on my ring finger to showcase the glitter. This polish is so jam-packed with all different shapes and colours of glitter particles, if definitely lives up to the Hed Kandi name.

To see the rest of the Hed Kandi collection go HERE. Polishes are £5 each and you can buy them from Modelsownit.com

Avon Nailwear Pro+ - Celestial Blue

Today's post is one of my latest Avon purchases. I feel like Avon have really stepped up their nail game in the last few months, and some of the new polishes they've released are really great.

They don't just make your traditional reds, or rose pinks anymore, and an example of that is the colour I have swatched today, Celestial Blue -

Celestial Blue is almost a jelly based polish with a million little flakies packed in there.

I do love a flakie.

I'm wearing three coats in the pics, but it would work great layered over a similar coloured creme.

Avon Nailwear Pro+ nail polishes are £6 each and you can request a brochure or buy online at Avonshop.co.uk.

Barry M - Teal

Today, I have a swatch to share which I am so excited about right now. I've had Barry M Teal sitting around for so long and I saw it a few days ago and decided I'd get it swatched asap!

I'm glad I finally got round to it, because this colour is so pretty :)

I'm wearing two coats in the pics.

I'm so in love with this colour! I think I'd call it more blue/turquoise than teal, but either way it's gorgeous. It applies really nicely and doesn't even really have too much of a streaky finish to say how metallic it is. I've definitely seen worse!

Barry M nail polish number 334, Teal is £2.99 and available at Barrym.com.

OPI Liquid Sand - Alcatraz...Rocks

Ever since Beauty uk's Printworks Grit FX polish, I have been obsessed with textured finish polishes. I know I'm late to the party, but I usually am and I'm here now!

Today I have one of the Liquid Sand polishes from OPI to share named Alcatraz...Rocks. I bought this polish duty free (yay!) so that is my justification for trying it out. It was a bargain :)

Alcatraz...Rocks is from the San Francisco collection for Autumn 2013 -

A pale purple base is packed full of multi-coloured glitter particles to create this beautiful textured finish. Love!

This polish requires a base coat, two coats of colour, but NO top coat.

You can check out their full colour range at Opi.com, or to buy online try Beautybay.com or Opiuk.com.

OPI nail polishes are £11.50 each.

Models Own - Ice Neon, Toxic Apple

During a recent mini Models Own haul, I thought I'd try one of the Ice Neon shades. Models Own have really been spoiling us this year with their collections! Launched in March 2013, Ice Neon colours are designed to be kept refrigerated to ensure the neon colour stays super bright and to stop it fading.

The colour I chose is called Toxic Apple -

I enjoy this colour very much! However I'm wearing three coats in the pics and it's still not opaque, something I'm not a fan of. But I think three coats is ok.

I got lots of compliments too, even from my boyfriends Grandma! She is a cool lady :)

Models Own polishes cost £5 available at Modelsownit.com. You can also buy five polishes and save £5, so 5 for 4! Bargain. Models Own also offer FREE online delivery (in the UK) on orders of five or more nail polishes, or nail polish box sets!

So whichever way you look at it, you can snag yourself a good deal.

Thanks for stopping by :)
