Wimbledon!

It's that time again! When it rains for two weeks, and we all moan about how the British can't play tennis....;-)

I love Wimbledon. I think it's so quintessentially British, and I think it's great that we keep these traditions year after year.

Nail time -

For these I used all Barry M's, 66 Matt White, 290 Spring Green and 300 Acid Yellow.

I started with two coats of white on all nails except my ring finger, which I used three coats of acid yellow.

Next I added striping tape to the white nails to get the lines, and painted the green over the top. Then, just peel off the tape, when the polish is almost dry, and add a top coat.

For the ring finger, I just added the white with a nail art brush to make the tennis ball (kind of).

I'm loving how these came out and I'll be shouting for Andy Murray obviously!

Hope you like,

Have a fabulous weekend, and I'll see ya Monday!

Gradient in Green

After checking out Sammy's brill tutorial over at Thenailasaurus.com, I thought it was about time to have a go at a gradient proper!

It really is easier than you think it will be, you just need to right tools.

Here's my attempt -

I started with two coats of Chanel Peridot as the base then China Glaze Holly-Day over the top.

I like how these came out as the effect is subtle, and because I used Peridot, it changes colour in different light. I hoped the colours would go well as Peridot has a green-ish undertone, so I'm pretty chuffed with this!

See Sammy's blog on gradients HERE! It's a good 'un.

I'm trying to go for a bit of a talon shape at the moment and my nails are in that hideous middle-can't do anything with them stage, so sorry about that! I am urging them to grow :-(

Hope you like,

See ya soon,

Dotty for Illamasqua!

I'm baaaack! Bit of a stressful week kids, a lot going on and two whole reports for my business course which hurts my brain cells :-(

I bought some Illamasqua polishes to make me feel better!
They had free delivery over the weekend so I went for three. 'Cos I could ;-)

I wanted to put all three on my nails at once naturally, so here's what I did -

I started of with two coats of 'Load', which is the cream, as a base. (I obviously bought this because I'm terribly immature and the name made me giggle!)
Next I added the blue, called 'Muse', and then the yellow dots. The yellow, 'Rare' is so luminous, it's actually ridiculous. I lurve it.

Illamasqua polishes are £13.50 each, and can be bought online here.

Hope you like, and you're having a good Monday!

See you soon,

Review : Bourjois - Magic Nail Polish Remover

I don't have a polish or a mani for you today, I have a remover. This product is new from Bourjois and is called Magic Nail Polish Remover.

Here it is -

So, the premise of this remover is that you dip your nail in, twist and off comes your nail polish.

Taken from the Bourjois website -

MAGIC NAIL POLISH REMOVER

INSTANTLY REMOVES NAIL POLISH. 1 SECOND PER NAIL*, WITHOUT COTTON WOOL!

Abra-cadabra!!!
Magic in a pot!
Nail polish is instantly removed with the touch of a magic wand!
For each nail, simply Dip-Twist-Remove in 1 second without any cotton wool.
Your nails will be polish-free in just 1 second*!
Plus, its red berry and vanilla fragrance leaves nails delicately scented.
And…it’s good for my nails!
- Acetone-free formula - gentle on nails and cuticles
- Enriched with nourishing sweet almond oil
- Paraben-free
- Dermatologically tested

Well, I must say that I really am super impressed with this product!!

I'm not gonna tell you that it removes polish in one second but it takes three seconds tops, and removes all traces of varnish. I used this in between swatching the Chanel polishes from my last post, and it worked an absolute treat.

It didn't dry out my skin at all, and it smells really amazing too!

One thing I will say is that the texture of the foam against my nail kinda makes me cringe, but it's over before you know it!

Honestly, I can't say enough nice things about this.

The Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover costs £4.99 and I bought mine from Boots.

I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you Friday :-)

Collection Summertime De Chanel 2012

More beautiful polishes from Chanel! The Summertime De Chanel collection launched on 28th May here in the UK, and I've finally got round to, firstly buying them, and actually swatching!

The collection includes three lovely colours as always from Chanel -

L-R Island, Delight and Holiday

L-R Island, Delight and Holiday

Island

Island is a super sheer pearl. Really buildable. Like your own nails, but just better!

Delight

Delight is somewhere between a gold and bronze glitter. Champagne?! That's what I thought of anyway! I can imagine this looks amazing in the sunshine, not that we're having any at the moment :-(

Holiday

Holiday is a bright orange creme with  a red undertone. There's been a lot of buzz about this colour and now I know why!

I have two coats on of each colour.

As ever, I am not disappointed with Chanel! Lovely colours that compliment each other really well. I think Delight is my fave :-)

They were £18 each from Debenhams.

Hope you like,

See ya Wednesday!

Neons. Smash.

Guys, I've been meaning to post since Wednesday, but it's just not been happening for me this week! And then yesterday, I was struck with a bout of food poisoning!

Pleasant.

Anywho... I did some nails and here they are -

I used the Barry M neons and 47 Black, and Bundle Monster plate 208 for the stamp.

A bit of brightly coloured fun :-)

Hope you enjoy,

I'll see ya Monday for some exciting swatches!

Have a great weekend,

Diamond Jubilee!

Unless you've been in space for a while, you're probably aware that the Queen is celebrating 60 years on the throne this weekend. I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that I Love the Queen!!!

Anyway, obviously I did some nails. I wasn't 100% as to whether I was going to do any, but after seeing some other amazing jubilee nails, I just got so inspired!

So here comes the mani -

I used almost a million colours.

Not really.

I used Barry M 262 Bright Red, 291 Cobalt Blue, 47 Black, 333 Black Multi-glitter and 320 Gold Foil, Illamsqua's Scorch and finally 545 Attraction by Chanel.

On the thumb I used Bright Red and Cobalt Blue and Scorch for the dots.
Index finger, I used the same colours but added glitters over the top.
I used all three again on the middle finger, but added some rhinestones to the middle cross. Just 'cos!
I used Attraction as the base on the ring finger with the black over top for the stamp silhouette.
And for the little finger, black multi-glitter as the base with gold foil on top for the crown.

Phew!

I'm going to a party in my local park today, and I hope everyone is having a great bank holiday weekend :-)

Hope you enjoy, see you next time guys!

Acid Point

I've decided I'm more of a brights person for summer. So I thought I'd put a few on my nails. Another one where I had no plan!

I used two coats of 539 June from Chanel as my base, then Barry M 305 Pink Flamingo and 300 Acid Yellow.

I don't have a story to tell you really. That's kind of it, I love just picking some colours and seeing where they take me!

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe bank holiday weekend, no work till Wednesday :-D

I'll see you next week!
