W7 Cosmic Nail Challenge Pt. 2

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today, I have another look for the W7 Cosmic Nail Challenge to share today.
I knew that one of the mani's I wanted to do for this challenge was a gradient, so once I'd figure out how to work the glitter in there it was time to get cracking!

Again the green nail polish is #87 Pistachio and the Cosmic Glitter is in green. I'm not sure the name of the other W7 I used as it's so old and not labelled :-( It is just a navy duo-chrome shimmer with a purple shift.

I hope you like these, and I'm sorry that cut about my middle finger looks so horrible!!

Check out W7cosmetics.co.uk to see their full range and a list of stockists.

Have a wonderful rest of the week :-)

W7 Cosmic Nail Challenge Pt. 1

*Press Samples*

Happy Monday! I'm back finally after my hectic but exciting week :-)

A couple of weeks ago, W7 Cosmetics tweeted that they were launching a challenge for bloggers, so naturally I put my details forward to be involved.
The challenge is the Cosmic Nail Challenge and we were sent one polish and a new Cosmic Nail Dust and asked to see what designs we could could come up with.

I've had a couple of ideas, but for my first look I tried a bit of everything just using #87 Pistachio and the green nail dust (both supplied by W7)

I hope you like these and I'm looking forward to sharing my other designs!

Watermelon Gradient

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you've all had an awesome week :-) I completed my first week in my new job today and I have to say I am excited about it! It's a very bizarre feeling to look forward to working!!

Today I have another quick post (sorry!) as I've just had no time this week, but I wanted to share something. All I've done is add Barry M Black to China Glaze watermelon Rind to create a gradient.

I love the contrast of the sparkly aqua and the creamy black, and how the glitter transfers to the black to make the gradient ever easier to apply. I've had a few compliments on these too which is always a great feeling :-)

Have a fabulous weekend whatever you're getting up to!

China Glaze - Watermelon Rind

I have a super quick swatch post for you today. I've started a new job this week and I just haven't had time for nails :-( But I'm feeling positive about my new job, I might even enjoy it! Imagine!

Today's swatch is of China Glaze Watermelon Rind. I am wearing three coats -

As you can see, this polish is quite thin and you can still see my nails through the three coats, which is a shame because the colour is glorious! This means that the colour is lighter and more aqua on the nail as opposed to the deep sea blue shade that it appears in the bottle.

Watermelon Rind cost me £3.94 at Beautychamber.co.uk, but of of course it's no longer available!! You can still find it at Beautybay.com for £4.17 (I don't know why!)

I hope you're all having a great week so far!

Muted Gradient

Today I have a bit of a softer gradient to share. I found my favourite pink shade of all time the other day, so I just had to use it but I wanted to pair it with something a little more muted as we're in the transition into Autumn :-) My fave season!

I began with a base of Paul & Joe Siamese and added Barry M Pink Flamingo to the tips. The accent nail glitter is Paul & Joe Hyacinth -

I love how the pink just gives that little pop of colour to remind me of Summer even though it's horrible and rainy today!

You can check out Paul & Joe beauty at Beautybay.com and Barry M at Barrym.com.

I hope you're all having an awesome weekend :-)

Illamasqua Melange

If you follow me on Twitter you will already be aware of my feeling towards this polish!

The Illamasqua Once Collection launched last Friday and so that it when I ordered Melange. It arrived yesterday (amazing delivery service btw Illamasqua!) which excited me greatly as that meant I could swatch it for today's post for you guys :-)

The above card came with my order. I love the quote from Alex Box about the collection, and the imagery is just divine.

In the swatches I am wearing two coats of Melange with a top coat -

Macro shot to show off the gorgeous golden flakes -

Melange by Illamasqua is a Teal polish which is packed fill of tiny gold and red, almost rust coloured flakes. As the quite says, the collection shows the juxtaposition of the old and new and I think this nail polish sums that up brilliantly. I think the Teal shade is quite a modern and playful colour and the addition of the flakes give it an almost antique looking finish.

This nail colour is my new best friend.

Illamasqua Melange costs £14.50 available at Illamasqua.com.

Avon Gel Finish - Barely There

Today I am very excited. Today is the day that I have finally found my perfect nude! I feel like I've had bad luck with 'nude' shades. The formula's are always sheer and need up to 4 coats, which nobody has time for, or the colour's not quite right, there's always something!

So when I got my last Avon catalogue through, I thought why not try the new Gel Finish? If they're as opaque as I hoped I might as well give them a go :-)

The shade I got is called Barely There, and as you've probably already guessed, I love it so much -

This is two coats of colour. I am wearing a top coat as I wanted to wear this polish for as long as I could, but you really don't need one. This is so glossy and shiny it's just not necessary!

I've worn this for 5 days and I really have very little tip wear and just one little chip but that's because I caught my nail on the petrol cap button on my car :-(

When I bought Barely There is was half price at £3.50 available from your local Avon rep or at Avonshop.co.uk.
