W7 - 84 Matt Green

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I have a super quick swatch to share of yet another polish that I've had for the longest time and never used! I remember I bought this at Xtras in Meadowhall which is a huge shopping mall in Sheffield and it was (probably) about £2!

The colour is called Matte Green which confused me slightly as is quite iridescent in the bottle but it dried to a semi-matte almost satin finish which I thought was really nice and a bit different.

I am wearing two coats of colour with a base coat and no top coat.

For saying this polish has been sat it my drawer for god know how long (it must be over a year) the consistency was perfect! I could have been brand new, I was very impressed :-)

I can't find Matt Green on Xtras.co.uk anymore however, they have loads of great W7 stuff on there so are definitely worth a look!
Matt Green is available though at Colourcosmetics.co.uk for £1.99.

Check out W7cosmetics.co.uk for their full range.

Have a fabulous weekend polish peeps!

PR - COLLECTION REFLETS D'ÉTÉ DE CHANEL for Summer 2014

COLLECTION REFLETS D'ÉTÉ DE CHANEL

Launching 6th June 2014

Summer loves colour with a passion.

In the radiant light, pink is even more cheerful, orange tones explode with vitality and sunbeams of gold and bronze dazzle like never before.
At the water’s edge, the colours in the summer palette shimmer to the max: pure or flamboyant, always magical in the reflection of the waves.
An idyllic vision of sunny days that we wish would last forever.

The CHANEL Makeup Studio dreams up a collection of shades to reveal infinite combinations on the nails and lips. For an endless summer…

NAILS
In summer, LE VERNIS offers limitless combinations. The nail colour shades echo the glosses of the collection and can be mixed, matched or mismatched on hands and feet. Lips and nails play together in an endless game.

VIBRANT COLOURS AND SNAZZY DUOS

EASTERN LIGHT

An opaque white nail polish to wear on its own
or combined with any shade of the collection.

SWEET LILAC

A delicate lilac that personalises the
pink and orange lip shades.

PINK TONIC

A brilliant fuchsia, the essential touch of femininity.

TUTTI FRUTTI

A coral as sweet and tangy as a sorbet.

MIRABELLA

A vivid and vibrant pop orange that wakes
up all of the summer glosses.

SUMMER
MANICURES

Elegance gets playful. The CHANEL Makeup Studio showcases the nail colours of the collection. The great makeup classics reinvent themselves and the creative manicure claims its place as the fun seasonal trend.

THE “ACCENT NAIL” MANICURE

The concept: apply a different colour on the index finger than on the other fingers of the hand. The perfect pairs:

EASTERN LIGHT on its own, together with one of the nail colours of the collection; PINK TONIC on its own, and MIRABELLA on the other nails; SWEET LILAC on its own, and TUTTI FRUTTI on the other nails.

THE NEW FRENCH MANICURE

Three creative suggestions to show off this timeless nail style in summer colours:

Apply EASTERN LIGHT to the entire nail and trace a colour border on the tip of the nail. Another option: apply colour to the entire nail and trace
a white border on the tip of the nail with EASTERN LIGHT for a demi-French manicure. For a reverse French manicure, apply colour to the entire nail and trace a white line on the bottom of the nail.

Butter London - Victoriana

Today's post is a super quick swatch, as I'm trying to make a chocolate fudge cake at the same time, and I'm not sure it's working!!!

I have another polish by Butter London to share today. Victoriana is a dusty blue packed with little silver glitter particles.

I'm wearing two coats of colour with a top and base coat.

Another great polish by BL! I love everything I own by them, and I think they really are an example of getting what you pay for!

Butter London Victoriana is £12 available at Butterlondon.co.uk.

Have a great weekend everyone :-)

Maybelline Colorshow Crystallize - Nearly Black

This nail polish came to me at the weekend courtesy of Glossybox. For their May box, they have collaborated with Superdrug who are celebrated their 50th anniversary!

One of the awesome products I received this month is a Maybelline Colorshow nail polish. This is a 'crystallize' formula, which is super glittery yet dries with a slight textured finish even with a top coat.

The colour that I got is called Nearly Black and is all kinds of orange, pink and blue glitters in a charcoal base.

I am wearing two coats of colour with a base and top coat.

I really like this polish. The formula is nice, however you need to work quickly as it dries on the nail really fast!

Big thanks again to Glossybox for the great product.

Maybelline Colorshow Crystallize polishes are £3.99 each, available at Superdrug.com.

Triangle Half Moons with Chanel

I have no idea what to call this mani, so the title is, so creatively, exactly what it is! A triangle half moon manicure using Chanel.

- I apologise for the cut in my index fingers cuticle :-( it really hurts and looks properly gross, hopefully by Mondays post it will have gone away. I hate it.

The colours I used are 607 Delight and 18 Rouge Noir.

Like Wednesdays post, this is something I haven't really tried before, but I think I did ok! I did get a few compliments at work to which always helps :-)

To create the half moon, I applied one coat of delight, then sprayed over the Elegant Touch Rapid Dry For Nails (which I recieved in a Glossybox and i absolutely love!).

I then cut some scotch tape into triangles and placed them over Delight where I wanted to make the half moon. I stuck the tape to my skin first to make it less sticky and therefore less likely to take off any nail colour.

Next, I applied two coats of Rouge Noir and a teeny bit more Rapid Dry Spray.

Finally, remove the tape and add your favourite top coat. At the moment I am loving one coat of Sparkly Nails Top Coat and then a coat of Seche Vite.

I love the SV for drying time obviously, but I hate that it shrinks and you can see they layers of polish around the edges of your nail which looks awful! I've found that using another top coat underneath stops this from happening.

I think I'll try the INM Out The Door next. Has anyone tried it? What do you think compared to SV?

Hope you all have an awesome weekend!

Negative V

Negative space nail art is something I've wanted to try for a while, but I've always put it off because I thought it would be something that went way over my talent levels!

Surprisingly, it was easier than I thought. Not I have done the best job in the world, but for my first attempt I think I did ok :-) and to be honest I think they look pretty bad ass!

I used Barry M White and Barry M Black Nail Art Pen (which is awesome by the way).

This is definitely something I will try again. I think the effect looks really modern and fresh and there are endless possibilities. One day. I'm going to be awesome at this!

Barry M Textured Glitter Nail Effects - Purple Countess

I hope you are all having a great start to your week, I am still recovering form Eurovision I think :-/

Today I have a swatch of yet another nail colour that I bought months ago and have never worn! If you follow WellNailed regularly, you'll know that I am a big fan of a textured nail polish. I initially bought this one to sort of trial the trend and then never did.

So I decided I'd give it a whirl today.

I am wearing two coats of Purple Countess without a top coat.

Purple Countess is a deep purple base colour packed with pink and gold glitter particles, which dries to a matte textured finish.

I like the colour very much, however as I don't like to wear a top coat with a textured polish, the colour chipped the same day as I applied it :-( so my opinion is definitely torn on this one!

Barry M Textured Glitter Nail Effects are £3.99 each at Barrym.com.

ArtDeco - 233 Emerald Mirror

You guys, today is an exciting day. Because today, is EUROVISION!

To celebrate (not really) here is a swatch of brand that is new to me - ArtDeco
I see them a lot when I'm browsing my fave beauty website Beautybay.com and the time finally came to try some!

One of the colours I bought is called Emerald Mirror (no. 233) and that's the one I've chosen to share today.

I am wearing two coats with a abase and top coat.

Sunlight picture to show the metallic sparkle -

You can see the slight green to blue shift in colour in the photo's, however unfortunately the purple shade that you can see in the bottle doesn't come through in real life or in photo's :-(

This is not my favourite formula. You can see, especially on my middle finger how it dragged as I applied the second coat and left marks that the top coat couldn't take out.

I do love the colour though and I am excited to try more, especially creme formula shades, to see how they compare.

ArtDeco no. 233 cost £7.50 and is available at Beautybay.com or check out the full range at Artdeco.com.

Happy weekend!

Butter London - Disco Biscuit

I'm back today to share another Butter London colour. Disco Biscuit is a hot pink jelly-ish packed with small glitter particles and is one of the first BL polishes I ever bought. I am ashamed at how long it's been sat in my drawer unused!

So finally, I have a swatch of Disco Biscuit and I'm wearing three coats of colour with a base and top coat.

Macro shot to show the tiny sparkles -

I mean, I don't mind doing three coats, but I just wish so hard that polishes like this could achieve the awesome effects of the depth of layers with less coats!

But I will deal with the extra coat for the pay off :-)

I feel sad I never wore this sooner....

Hope you're all having an awesome week, and I'll see you Friday with a newbie to share.

Butter London polishes are £12 each. Check out Butterlondon.co.uk for the whole range.

Avon Speed Dry+ - Lure

Good Monday everyone! If you live in the UK you'll be enjoying the extra day off and the long weekend. I hope no-one is feeling too rough ;-)

Wanna know what's awesome?

Coming home from holiday and having nail mail waiting for you! I only ordered a couple of things before I went away, but it was still great to come back to a little pile of parcels :-)

One of said polishes is from Avon. In the latest magazine, I saw these polishes that are infused with flakies, so naturally I had to try them out.

I have also done something in this post that I haven't shown before, and that's using natural light for my photos. I was having a nightmare with my lighting, and I always have trouble with blue's anyway. I am loving how the picture look and they are pretty bang on to the colour too, which in the end, it what it's all about!

I am wearing three coats of Lure with a top and base coat.

Lure is a sheer-ish turquoise with little flakie pieces. I love the build up of colour and the depth that the layers give the finished look.

It also reminds me of the sea :-)

These new shades are currently half price at £3 at Avonshop.co.uk.
