WAH Look #3 - Half Moon

Hi guys!
Hope you all a fab weekend :-)

Today I have the third look from The WAH book, half moons!
I've never tried a half moon mani before, but I don't think they're too bad for my first go. What do you think?

I used three coats of Illamasqua Load as my base colour and Barry M 47 Black for the moons.
I must apologise for the shocking clean up job! I didn't realise they were so shabby! hahaha

Hope you like and I'll see ya next time,

WAH Look #2 - Candystripe

Time for the second look from the WAH book!

I found this one kinda difficult 'cos I don't have a particularly steady hand, but hey, it's in the book so I gave it a go!

Here's the pics -

For these I used Barry M (again!) - 309 Strawberry Ice cream and 66 Matt White.

Again, I don't have a striper polish, so I just used a striper brush dipped in my white polish.

Hope you like!

Have a fabulous weekend, and I'll see ya Monday :-)

WAH Look #1 - Leopard

If you caught my Last Blog, you'll know that I am embarking on a bit of a challenge! Basically, I'm trying out the 25 step-by-step looks from the WAH Nails Book of Nail Art!

I'm super excited about this, so lets just crack on :-D

The first look is Leopard. Everyone loves a good leopard nail, and here it is WAH styleeee -

For my nails, I used all Barry M's - 304 Mint Green, 66 Matt White and 47 Black.

I don't own proper striper polishes or the Models Own Nail Art pens. Mainly 'cos I'm a pauper! But I just used nail art brushes for this look.

I'm well impressed with myself!

I must say not a bad start to the challenge :-)
Enough blowing my own trumpet.

I hope you like these, and I will see you Friday!

The WAH Nails Book of nail Art!

I eventually received this book after waiting for weeks for delivery! But it's here now so I am one happy bunny :-D

The WAH Nails Book of Nail Art by Sharmadean Reid is absolutely bloody fantastic!!

It's so nice to finally have a book of nail art that I actually want to try. Something up to date and fun! Books I've had in the past have been just so outdated and are full of hideous acrylics and grossness.

In the intro, Sharmadean puts it perfectly - "I was perplexed as to why London didn't have a cool nail salon of it's own, when it's supposed to be a trendsetting city!"
And with that, WAH nails was born.

Here come some piccies -

The WAH 100!!

Also in the book are 25 step-by-step guides so you can re-create some of the famous WAH styles at home -

Obviously, I decided that the best thing to do would be to have a go at the designs and so you all how I get on!!

This is the first 'challenge'-esque thing I've done and I'm super excited about it :-) and I hope you all enjoy my attempts.

The book costs £9.99.

See you all next time with the first look!

Spotted In The Nude

Decided to break out some jazzy colours, 'cos I'm sick of this bloody weather and need to bring some sunshine to my life!!

I've seen a few designs in this vein recently, so I gave it a go -

I started off with three coats of Barry M 342 Nude.

Then using various sized dotting tools, I added 318 Peach Melba, 305 Pink Flamingo, 302 Fushia and Gamma and Self from Illamasqua.

The nude from Barry M is quite pink toned, so I thought the design would come out best if I stuck to the same colour family.

What do you think?

Hope you enjoy, and I'll see ya Friday!

Review : Beauty UK Salon Professional

Bargain polishes are always my fave :-)

I found this Beauty UK Salon Professional polish in my local chemist for 99p. How do I say no?!

The colour is 76 Jade, it's a creme, and it looks like this -

Jade is more on the blue side of green, if that even makes sense! The formula is pretty thin and I have three coats on here. I like the colour and think even at the full price (£2.50) you can't really go wrong with these beauties.

After about 20 mins I got bored so I added Chanel Distraction as the worlds worst gradient!

Hope you like and I'll see ya next time,

Wrapped In Foil

Happy Friday 13th! Hope it's great day for everyone...

I haven't stamped for a lil bit so I thought It's time to break out the Bundle Monsters and have a crack!

I knew I wanted to use a Barry M foil because I think they work really well for a stamp and they look sooooo pretty.

For the base I used two coats of the glorious Paul & Joe 18 The City Never Sleeps and to stamp I used Barry M NPLES Purple Foil.

The plate I used was a Bundle Monster BM 201.

I'll be back to nubbies on Monday 'cos I've broken two of my talons :-( gutted!

I hope you enjoy these and have a fabulous weekend..

See you Monday!

Straight To The (Golden) Point

Trying to do something that showcases my (sort of) talons!!
How successful I was, well, that's up to you guys ;-)

No idea why I picked the colours/shape/whatever.....
Just another one of those random paint it an see types!

Here's what I done -

I started off with two coats of Barry M 1A Red Wine and then use 320 Gold Foil over the tips, just using the brush that comes with the polish.

Short but sweet :-)

Hope you like these, and I'll see ya next time!

Review : Marks & Spencer - Limited Collection

I have heard so so so many great things about the new Limited Collection cosmetics range from Marks & Spencers that when I found myself browsing last week, I just HAD to buy some polish :-) I was with my mum, so obvs it's her fault....

The colour I bought is Lilac, and it goes a little something like this -

Lilac is a super pretty, well, lilac really with a gold shimmer running through. Lovely and build-able, I have two coats on here, but it's still a wee bit too sheer for me. I'm an opaque gurl ;-)

I really like this and I'm proper impressed, I must say!

Polishes come in 25 great shades and cost £3.50 each. Erm, bargain. Check 'em on the M+S website HERE!

Hope you enjoy,

See ya soon!

Review : Barry M Chameleon Nail Effect

Yet more lovely new polished from Barry M!

These are called Chameleon Nail Effects, and basically when you apply clear polish/ top coat, they change colour like a chameleon. See what they did?

They come in three colours -

From L-R - 330 Pink, 331 Blue and 332 Lilac

And here's some jazz that I did with them -

I used Lilac on my thumb and little finger, Blue on the index and ring fingers and Pink in the middle.

Bit from BarryM.com -

Magical Chameleon instant nail effects means you have two colours in one! Instructions: 1. Apply a basecoat and then apply one coat of your chameleon nail paint and allow to dry 2. Apply second coat and allow to dry 3. Create a design with your clear nail paint and watch it change colour

So, I like the concept of these polishes very much. The formula is lovely as always with Barry M (two coats standard!) and the colours are really nice metallics.

However, I must say, the drawback to these is that, obviously, if you add a top coat, the polish will change colour! So I'm not really sure about longevity with these manicures, but to be honest, I only wore this for a day so I can't really comment!!!

Chameleon Nail Effect's get an all round 'yes'!

They cost £3.99 each and I bought mine from Boots.

Hope you like,

Have a fabulous weekend and I'll see ya Monday :-)

Radioactips..

Title courtesy of my mum!

One of those paint it and see types, you know how it goes...

Can't remember what I used as the base...

It was by e.l.f though..Think it was Dessert Haze, but don't quote me on it!

I then added Models Own beach Party from the Hed Kandi collection, (which I'm still loving by the way ;-)) on to the tips.

Not really much else to say so I'll just love you and leave you I guess!

Hope you're all having a good week,

See you soon,

VIVA FOREVER!

It was announced last week that a musical is going to be launched based on the songs of the Spice Girls! Now I don't know about you, but the Spice Girls were my life!! I grew up in the 90's when they were at their height and I am honestly so excited by this news!!!!!

Obviously I celebrated the only way I know how, with a mani -

L-R Sporty, Scary, Baby, Ginger and Posh! ;-)
(I hope you could tell that already though!)

Thumb: I started with two coats off Barry M 66 Matt White and added 47 Black with a nail art brush.

Index: Three coats of Illamasqua Load as the base colour, then Barry M 320 Gold Foil and 129 Chocolate Brown for the leopard detail.

Middle: Base colour is Barry M 317 Blue Moon with 119 baby Pink for the stripes and tip over the top.

Ring: Two coats of Barry M 296 Coral to start, then Chanel Holiday and China Glaze Winter Berry for the gradient.

Little: Barry M 47 Black with 66 Matt White over the top for the crescent.

I kinda love these.

The Musical is called Viva Forever! and is written by the wonderful Jennifer Saunders and produced by Judy Craymer, the lady who brought the world Mamma Mia!, so I'm expecting brilliance!!!!
