WAH Look #9 - Lacy Hearts

So here we are at look number nine from WAH Book 2 and I can't believe how fast this is going!

I think it's because I'm having so much fun :)

WAH Look number nine is called Lacy Hearts -

I found this one a little difficult to start with because of the shape of my nails. Obviously in the book, this look was designed for pointed nails to go with the pointed edge of the heart design.

I couldn't decide how to work this around my nails, but I think I made the right call in the end!
I used one coat of MeMeMe Innocent, just to blank out the colour of my skin and to create a canvas for the nail art.

The pink is my favourite pink ever, Chanel May and the red is 17 Knockout Red. I also used a white nail art pen.

I really liked this one, until I added the white! I think I just need to practice with nail art pens..... but I don't have the patients!!

This mani was fun to create though, and it's such a sweet look. And like the book says, you could try a contrasting background which I think would make it more fun and daring.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
WN x

WAH Look #8 - Japanese Bling

Everyone loves a bit of nail fun, and this look is all about that!
Japanese Bling showcases the fun and quirky side of nail art.
With rhinestones and bows, glitter and flowers, you can pretty much add what you want as long as it sparkles!

For these nails I used three Barry M glitters - Pink Silver, Pink Iridescent and Silver Multi-glitter.

I also used my white nail art pen and all the accessories are from ebay. As it says in the book, they're hard to find but quite in-expensive and fun :)

To be honest, I couldn't deal with this on my nails for even a day! I love adding rhinestones and studs to my mani, but this lot is a bit much for me. I did have a lot of fun doing them though, and I think they look great even if they'd do my head in!

WAH Look #7 - -Houndstooth

I've said this before, but my favourite part of working through these books is that I get to try out so many techniques and designs that I wouldn't normally have the confidence to do.

Today's look is definitely one of those! This mani is instantly recognisable and I must say it looks brilliant.

Look number 7 is called Houndstooth -

I might have cocked up a couple of times, but overall I am well impressed with myself!

This design took me about 40 minutes, but i was watching football as well and of course it was my first go.

I used both Barry M Matt White and Black (again!) and a striping brush and a detailer brush.

Hope you all love today's design as much as I do!

See you Wednesday,

WAH Look #6 - Galaxy

This is only my second ever Galaxy mani, and I think it's something I can really get into! I liked doing this one better than my first one as, in the WAH Nails Book of Downtown Girls, you get detailed step-by-step instructions on how to create the looks.

There are a lot of colours involved in this mani!

I used Barry M Matt White, Black, Yellow, Blueberry Ice Cream, Block Orange and Lime Green. Chanel Suspicious and Nails Inc. Wetsminster.

You'll need a make up sponge, a white striper / dotter (I used my cheap white nail art pen from eBay) and a clean up brush too.

I like the concept of using loads of different colours, but I think I actually prefer the look with just a couple of shades. My favourite from this mani is probably the index finger where I used the purple and pale blue.

Again, another fabulous design with endless possibilities!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend,

WAH Look #5 - Floral

Look number five! Today's mani is called Floral and I think it's my fave so far :) I had a lot of fun with this one. It took a little while, but I think it's worth it, and the design just speaks for itself. I got so many complements whilst wearing this one -

To create the look, I used Barry M White, Bright Pink, and Fushia. I also used Illamasqua Smash and my cheapy green nail art pen.

I used a couple of different small nail art brushes for the details too.

WAH Look #4 - Downtown

The fourth look in The WAH Nails book of Downtown Girls is named 'Downtown'. This look is inspired by artists such as Kieth Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, using motifs and shapes from their work and turning them into awesome nail designs -

This mani was so much fun to do! I'm just copying them from the book, but imagine the colours and shapes you could use...

I used Nubar Lemon Sorbet and Butter London Minger for the base colours and then my black nail art pen on top.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
